How to avoid those “blow up” holes
Author: Cameron | Category: GolfAnother common question that I’ve been getting asked is,
“how do I avoid those two or three holes that destroy my game?” The audio below refers to the last three holes but it can be applied to your entire game.

I AM TRYING TO DO THIS ACTUALLY,AUTOMATE MY GAME. i HAVE HAD 2 ROUNDS LATELY WHERE ON THE FIRST NINE I WAS 1 UNDER AND PAR BUT ON THE SECOND NINE I SEEM TO FALL AWAY A BIT. tHIS IS WWHERE I HAVE TO GET AUTOMATED SO WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.HOLE BYB HOLE AND SHOT BY SHOT AND NOT GET AHEAD OF MYSELF AND EXPECTATIONS

Thanks Cameron. What you say makes such good sense and is based on automating your game which is still proving a bit elusive for me.

Thanks for the advice Cameron makes good sense to play your natural game. Tightening up is when you make the errors.

Thanks for these good strategies. I think I am using in my games but I might have used the wrong club or interference was stronger when I blow up my game on the 16th & 18th. 16th hole at our club is a par 5 parallel to a lake on the left side and trees on the right side of the fairway. My tee shot went off the fairway to the right. My ball rested on bald spot. Thinking I could clear the tree tops in front, I used my 3 wood. Unfortunately I hit a branch and made my ball bounce sideways but on the left side of the fairway near the water. From this point, I have to cover around 150 meters distance, parallel to the lake before I could cross the lake on my 4th shot into the
green. I used my 5 wood to cover the distance. But my shot went off the fairway again to the right, under the trees. I chose the club appropriate to the distance, 120 meters but because of my awkward position
didnt cross the lake. I had to make a drop with a penalty shot giving me 6shot on the green with a long uphill putt. I had 3 putts ending up with 9strokes. My 18th hole is similar to the 16th. Tee shot among the trees. I used 3 wood again to get a long distance but hit a tree again and my ball went backward instead ot forward so ended up 8 shots on a par 4. The left a net score of 4 over par.

Great advice Cameron, but I’m still finding it hard to automate my swing. My routine is: I stand behind the ball and pick a target where I want to hit it, as I move forward I start humming a song to preoccupy the mind so the subconscious can take over and I hit the ball either pull it left, block it right, hit a draw or slice. My distance is approx 250 - 275m with the driver but not hitting the fairway regularly is killing my game.

Andrew: It can be hard to trust the automatic game. Seems like you’re doing everything well - I might have to provide some more detail.
Keep your eyes peeled.
